The Long Plain First Nation Trust is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of 6 elected and 1 appointed.  The Trustees term of office is 4 years. 
For consistency, the expiration of the terms of office are staggered with an election from both on and off reserve occurring every 2 years. 
The Independent Trustee is selected appointed by the Elected Trustee every 4 years. 

The purpose of the Trustee position is to fulfill the terms of to the Settlement and Trust Agreements endorsed August 3rd, 1994.
